Don Vargo’s 1934 Ford Cabriolet, the show rod he called “69’er” that was built by the Alexander Brothers in Detroit. It featured a blown Oldsmobile engine, candy red paint over a gold base, and red and white tuck & roll upholstery. The car made its debut at the 1963 Detroit Autorama, and winning every major award handed out that year. In this picture, you can see an original cartoon drawing of the car, created by Stanley “Mouse” Miller, a Detroit-based “weirdo” artist.
