Grand Bend Dragway Pioneers

Grand Bend Dragway Pioneers

My newest book, "Thunder By The Beach, Grand Bend Dragway 1964-1969" is almost complete!

Grand Bend Dragway pioneers!

In the photo on the left is Pete Warner and on the right is Pete Pollock. Both of these gentlemen have been friends since they were very young. In 1963, these two came up with the idea of building a drag strip at the old Grand Bend airport. Along with 7 other investors, they were able to open Grand Bend Dragway in July of 1964, creating many drag racing memories over the 6 years that track was open. It was my great pleasure to spend the entire day with these men, hearing all about the memories they have of that special drag strip. I now have a much clearer picture of how it all happened, information that I will be sharing with my readers.

My new book, "Thunder By The Beach, Grand Bend Dragway 1964-1969" is almost complete, and now with this excellent new material, it will be just that much better.
